Security is the goal of your storage
experience.
Are there alarms for fire and theft? What is the entry process? Are there security cameras? Do you have the only keys to your unit? How is pest control handled? What is the neighborhood like? Since your property has value to you, you want to make sure that it is safe, clean and dry. That makes furnaces and air conditioners and dehumidifiers a must. Low rental rates are a poor excuse for damage to your possessions.
At Climate Control Indoor Storage we do things a little differently; for good reason. We are open 65 hours a week. We have helpful, friendly staff on duty during these hours. You are safe and the building is active. When we close, we are locked down; no one is admitted. We feel this is better than being accessible 24 hours a day when security can be breached.
We will hold an extra key for you if you wish, but it is best if you are the
only holder of your key.
We have only seen 1 mouse in the building. He was interested in a sandwich in our lunch room. His lease has been terminated and we now keep our food in the fridge and have D-Con distributed around the building. We find that with our new dehumidifier, the building is drier and doesn't attract insects etc.
We are lucky to have Kroger grocery next door. It is easy to get donuts, but it's also open 24 hours and has bright lights shining on our building and customer traffic all night long. It's great security.
Damage to customer's property has been minimal. We have had some minor moisture
issues. Adding eves troughs, installing a huge dehumidifier, installing new foundation
drain lines around the building, replacing sump pumps, and making roof inspections
have virtually eliminated any problem. We have given a month of free rent once
to compensate for someone's inconvenience. It may also be that a customer's
own insurance company has paid a claim that we don't know about, but I doubt
it. It is agreed in the lease that we do not insure a customer's property and
that they must look to their own insurer for coverage. Our staff is constantly
circulating throughout the building to spot any problems quickly. If we should
see a problem, and we cannot contact you, we ask your permission to enter your
unit and solve the problem.
